How pollination works ?

Flowers can be pollinated by all sort of insects. Here I will mainly concentrate on the European bees.
Generally a worker bee is either looking for pollen or nectar, but rarely searching for both at the same time.
The bee walks on the surface of the flower where the stamina are, she takes the pollen with her mandibles, making a small
ball which she then carries with her front legs in a basket that looks alike in shape to the one in her back legs.
If there are many stamina open, with much pollen, the bee will then collect it with the brushes that adorn her back legs.

pollen bag

This bee is setting on a log, recovering after I saved her from drowning.A bee can't swin.
We can see clearly the pollen's ball . it comes from an Acacia tree.
Imagine walking hundreds of meters even miles with a couple of soccer balls attach to your knees !
